What is the 14th Moon Ceremony?
The Women of the 14th Moon Ceremony is a ceremony to honor and empower elder women. In honoring our elders, we also honor the life path that we, as women, all share – the path from Maiden, to Matron, to Elder. This ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for elders to receive the recognition they have earned and to initiate elders as they cross the threshold into this new phase of life. It is also a chance for younger women to learn from the elders' life experience, and for women of all ages and nations to celebrate one another. After all, we are all elders in training.
The Women of the 14th Moon Ceremony has been conducted all over the world -- in Christian church communities, in indigenous communities, on the campuses of universities, with homeless women, and with groups of women from the Western Culture who recognize the importance of its intention and purpose.
The 14th Moon ceremony was intended to be a give-away to any group of women who feel guided to take it to other communities -- locally, nationally, and globally. This website is a beginning guide for those women, and a directory for all 14th Moon ceremonies that are being offered around the world. We believe that the healing of the Earth begins with the women coming together to heal and share their own healing selves in a way that empowers us all.
